Teaching in Nature’s Classroom: a free online course for educators

Cost: Free! 

Participants also have the option of registering for 2 graduate credits through the University of the Pacific. 


Dates: September 2- December 19. 2022 (15 weeks) 

This is a self-directed, 30-hour course so you can choose to work at a faster pace and finish the course earlier than December 19. 


Location: Online through Google Classroom 


Course Description: The course, developed as a companion to the book Teaching in Nature’s Classroom: Principles of Garden-Based Education, is an opportunity for educators new to outdoor and garden-based learning, as well as educators who are experienced in the field, to consider best practices and reflect on their own teaching practice in outdoor learning environments, with a focus on school and community youth gardens.


Upon completion of the 30-hour course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
