Cultivating Community to Build, Enrich, and Sustain School Garden Programs

What started as a single vermicompost bin in one classroom has grown into a district-wide program diverting 20,000+ pounds of lunch waste annually, composting education in every classroom, and gardens serving schools and the broader community.

 

Participants will explore how multi-partner collaboration can transform school gardens into community hubs for sustainability and food access . They will leave with practical tools including best practices, a partner mapping template, and a planning framework to build their own garden networks.
