Hoping some of you might find this program of interest. For the first time, we are opening our teacher/school-focused school garden coaching program, SproUTing Teachers, up to schools across the US for online training. Please feel free to send to any school you support that would benefit from this training. Applications are being accepted now through May 17 for the 23-24 program.

SproUTing Teachers, a grant-supported program from the University of Texas, offers free individualized coaching to increase and improve school garden use integrated into the classroom curriculum. Our program accepts applicants on three different tracts: individual teacher, garden leadership team, or instructional coach.

For classroom teachers, multiple sessions help teachers identify curriculum integration opportunities, modify existing lessons to use in the garden, find new opportunities for outdoor learning, and use the school garden to its fullest potential as a learning tool.

Garden leadership teams benefit from our Garden Leadership team track sessions by establishing goals, identifying barriers, and establishing plans for long-term sustainability and effective, impactful use of the garden as a cross-curricular learning environment.

New schools applying must have an existing, maintained garden. Our program is funded by grant donations and there is no cost to the school or teacher. Contact bonniemartin@utexas.edu with questions.
