Hey all! Wondering what Northeast folks are using as resources to figure out when to start seeds indoors? Any favorite planting guides online with this info? The back of seed packets? Intuition?

Who has started seeds already and what have you started or will be starting (and when)?

    Thanks!

Johnny's has a seed-starting date calculator that I find very handy. Simply enter your average last frost date and it will give you the range of weeks you should start the seeds and will indicate which should be direct seeded. It's helpful to make a spreadsheet where you record everything you start and when, then take notes based on how things did and adjust accordingly the following year. I've already started most everything indoors, and have transplanted our cool weather veggies + direct seeded radish and cutting greens. I'll wait until the first two weeks of May to direct seed summer crops.

If you enter your zip code on the Farmer's Almanac Planting Calendar it'll tell you exactly when to plant what, whether starting indoors or in the ground!
