Hello Everyone!
Our school in Jackson Heights, NY will be hosting it's summer permaculture camp for the 8th year. It is an award-winning program funded by the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development.
We have four positions available, two teacher slots and two teacher assistants. Teacher positions do not require a degree or certification, but we would prefer someone with an AA or above degree and experience working with children. Assistants should have a HS diploma and and interest in working with children. Curriculum will be supplied, as well as 10 hours of paid training prior to start of program. Program runs July 3rd-August 3rd, Mon-Thursdays, 8:30-4:00, with a lunch break.
This is a camp for rising 3rd-6th graders. The goal is fun! We have a lot of repeat students, as they love the activities and field trips. While we are trying to teach them about permaculture, gardening, recycling and more, our goal is fun and engagement for all.
