Poetry in the Garden: A Workshop for Garden Educators

When:  Mar 13, 2025 from 03:00:00 PM to 04:30:00 PM (PT)

This event is hosted by The Edible Schoolyard Project.

How can using poetry with students in our green and growing spaces help us all learn attention, observation, wonder and delight? How can poetry help nourish the senses and be a part of our garden projects?

In this workshop geared toward gardening instructors but open to the wider public, celebrated poet Tess Taylor, author of Leaning Toward Light: Poems for Gardens and the Hands that Tend Them, will lead a workshop exploring how writing poems in green and growing spaces can enhance other learning about plants, soil, food, bugs and the interconnected webs of the nonhuman world. Bring a pen, paper, and curiosity.
