Hi all,
I'm so excited to kick off this partnership between Kidsgardening and Upper Valley Farm to School. My name is Andrew Deaett, I grew up in the Upper Valley, and now live in Thetford, Vermont. Prior to my work as a project manager with Vital Communities, I taught Environmental Science for seven years. I always looked for opportunities to get students learning in, from, and with nature.
In my current role managing Upper Valley Farm to School, I serve as a regional coach through the Northeast Farm to School Institute, support Farm to School programs with annual mini-grants, and work with school teams to advance their Farm to School goals. I also represent the Vermont and New Hampshire Farm to School Networks here in the Upper Valley.

KidsGardening and Upper Valley Farm to School formed this group to create a space for Upper Valley garden educators to gather to share and learn from one another and create synergies. Here, we can chat with each other, ask questions, share resources, announce events, and more.
Let's all take a minute and introduce ourselves!
I'll start:
I'm Em Shipman, UV native and Bradford resident. I'm the ED of KidsGardening and former coordinator of the Upper Valley Teaching Place Collaborative. I am a garden designer and worked as a professional gardener in the UV for many years. I support the garden program at Caring Community Preschool in Post Mills and serve on a few environmental ed. focused committees and boards around the region.
I'm so happy to meet you all and look forward to learning from/with you.
