Growing School Food Gardens

Hi Everyone,
I am planning for next year and looking for the best containers to grow loose leaf (black seeded simpson) and mesclun in our High School greenhouse. We have a growing rack already with grow lights. Can anyone share which containers you may use for lettuce at your schools. Thank you!

Kiddie pools with holes drilled in. Cheap, and huge. 
Another cheap option is using donated tupperware containers or recycled produce containers- like those that mushrooms are sold in. 
Nursery trays are the standard option- but a little expensive on a large scale.
