    Free milkweeds for schools and educational non-profits

    If you are associated with a school or educational nonprofit and plan to plant milkweeds in a public garden space, Monarch Watch is taking applications for 2023.  Applications will be reviewed beginning in January, and single flats (32–58 plants, depending on location and species) will be distributed to recipients in the spring, while milkweed supplies last.     It looks like the application for free milkweed from Monarch Watch is still open! I also want to make sure folks are aware of these opportunities from the Xerces Society to apply for pollinator/monarch/habitat plant kits. Only certain cities and regions in the US are eligible so you'll need to see if you fall in those areas but many of the applications are open now (or opening soon) and some are closing soon! (I'm adding these to the Funding Opportunities page on this site, too.)
