Hi everyone! I just joined the community and look forward to co-cultivating with you all π±.
I wanted to share an opportunity for kids to receive a free tree this upcoming Earth Day. ππ³
I'm with Neighborhood Forest, and every Earth Day, we give free trees to kids across all 50 states.
Here's how children can receive a tree:
1) Any youth-serving organization (e.g. school, library, youth group, parks & rec department, etc.) can register to receive free trees, at neighborhoodforest.org.
2) Once registered, the organization communicates with their community how to register children for a free tree.
3) Parents or guardians register their child for a free tree, through their participating organization. The parent/guardian registration deadline for this year's free tree program is March 15th.
4) Trees are shipped to the organization around Earth Day.
5) The organization shares the free trees with the kids who registered. π³
Then, the kids get to plant their tree and watch it grow! We prioritize native and fruit-bearing trees and aim to give 200,000 children a free tree this year.
