Nina,
That sounds wonderful and like a successful celebration. I have done something similar with reading a book in the garden and posted the pages of the story throughout. I used tall gardening decor stakes that easily were pushed into the ground. I double-laminated the graphic, but cut the first lamination to be smaller than the following lamination in order to truly seal the graphic. Then I attached the laminated page to the decorative garden stake with a waterproof gorilla glue tape. I did a double sided sign, so that the tape was not visible to viewers and the story could be read both ways -- entering or exiting the garden space.
I hope your event went well if it has already happened. If not, I would look at resources to adapt a Story Walk as they are colloquially known and see if you could adapt it for your walking tour event.
Hope this helps,
Kalie J

Subject: Garden Timeline Signage
Hello Everyone,
I am part of a community garden in Santa Monica CA. We are getting ready for a 50th anniversary celebration of the garden. The group would like some kind of timeline about the garden posted on the perimeter for people to see. I am imagining signs that start with year 1 then show important moments in the garden's history. Anyone ever done this? Kind of like a walking tour with things to read. What kind of signage would be affordable and with stand the elements?
Thank you!
