Hello,
What a wonderful thread with great resources on here!
Thank you for considering Land Acknowledgement in your school gardens!
This is also a great way to touch on the subjects of history, geography, social studies.
Land acknowledgement and starting a garden bed of native plants that the original inhabitants grew is an impactful way for the students to connect with the land they care for and live on.
I have seen garden sign of something along the lines of:
"We honor & acknowledge the Nuwuvi (Southern Paiute).
The indigenous people of this land. "
Here is a brief on the importance of Land acknowledgment, as well as educational resource links and culturally sensitive activities
Honoring Original Indigenous Inhabitants: Land Acknowledgment
Here is also an app & website - Native Land allows you to plug in any location and see whose land you are standing on:

I will post more resources & links on this topic, as I come across them.

Hello Gardeneers,
Does anyone have examples of land acknowledgments to share? I would like to make signs for our school gardens.
Thanks!
