    Hello fellow gardeners!

I am in search of a software program to document volunteer hours, etc. that is easy to use and is free or not too expensive for our non-profit.     Pros and cons of the program and any suggestions you may have is much appreciated.    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Carole,

I have recently started using POINT software for scheduling and tracking our volunteers. We have the basic free version and I really like it. For my non-profit, the paid version is not worth the cost.

I really like it, it is easy to set up and schedule volunteer events, tracks the hours automatically, can use for regular weekly volunteer sessions and for fundraising events. You can also have different groups set up that can volunteer for different events - I have a high school volunteer group that has a different schedule to our regular weekly adult volunteers for example.

Negatives - you have to have the paid version to set up recurring events. We have volunteers every week, so I copy and edit the previous events to get around that part which does not take too long. The volunteers do get a couple of emails - one when they have signed up to a shift and another the day before the shift which a couple of my volunteers don't love.

Overall, it is worth it and has saved me a lot of manual inputting of volunteer hours!! Sign In | POINT (pointapp.org)
