Hey does anyone know of a place that would have the green foliage for wreath making or any idea how to get some.???

I'm in rural CT and we have lots of families with evergreens on their property who are willing to give us some, or even let us come and cut it ourselves.  Maybe just put out an email or social media post to families in your community?

We make dozens of wreaths and swags every year, and get all of our greenery for free simply by asking the property owner/ store manager/ HOA, etc if we might prune their shrubs and trees :) Of course, it helps that our "green team" are professional horticulturists and Master Gardener volunteers.

 I recommend planning ahead and communicating directly via phone, email and in person, (more than once!) with the date and time. There is often more than one person who needs to know of your plans, and good communication prevents your project from being scuttled by someone who didn't know you were coming, or didn't know you had permission.

Right now, grapevine leaves that climb are turning red. I pull them from the ground, pull the leaves off, and then wrap them into a wreath shape using twine to hold the shape. Find friends or parks that have grapevines that will allow you to pull them to use as wreaths. Trimming your evergreens is another way to get free wreath swags, just as others have mentioned. I'll be using page origami butterflies to decorate the wreaths in our school library.
