That animal protection cage looks great! and the nice thing about a cage like that is you can potentially lift it off to give access to the bed for cultivation and harvest right? We built cages like that at a daycare center so kids would not eat the leaves of tomato plants but also as squirrel protection for strawberries which worked pretty well, and that cage could be much shorter of course.
Is this your cage? or what you may build? It looks like there are some deep holes inside the cage, which makes me think of groundhogs, which plague us here (near Boston, MA). They can dig up from below in a raised bed if they are really determined, which sometimes they are. Where are you located?
